Craig Howe, speaks to CRN Australia about how they’re taking advantage of AI’s surge.
When it comes to the growth and acceleration of AI, Craig Howe, founder and CEO of data and AI consultancy V2 AI, likens a couple of months to a year.
Speaking to CRN Australia at the AWS Summit in Sydney, Howe discusses how the development of AI is faring.
“I would have said three months feels like a year in terms of AI, and one week feels like a month,” Howe said.
“Three or four months ago, i.e. a year, there was a lot around data strategy and data governance, and how you do that, and you have to do that.
“But, there's a lot more now on how I drive an AI first strategy that brings the data, all those things with it. It's just becoming more top of the pile, more of a priority, it's in boards. There’s the hype and the real things coming with it.”
When asked what the next three to four months look like, Howe said it is all about the customer.
“How are we going to help enable customers to accelerate. Our mission is, how do we accelerate some of the world's largest brands in data and AI,” he said.
“We're really focused around that, and that's going to include more AI, engineering strategy, change implementation, more path to production, more building off productionised instances. Generative AI, conversational, AI will take another leap.”
Howe said everyone’s looking at agentic AI and how that affects processes and workflows.
“For us, it's going to be a lot around agentic AI and how we help businesses with their processes and systems. It's not just a technology thing, but how do we bring the business and technology closer together?
“We'll continue to forge partnerships and relationships towards that customer led initiative.”
Howe said it is an exciting time for everyone in this space.
“But I certainly think generative AI will take another leap, if you're talking to tech side, some of the technologies like MCP servers and A2A which are like the social networking of agents.
“They're going to take another leap, but it's going to come down to how the business and technology operate together, the technology is great,” he ended.
Howe said he loves the idea of business and technology working faster together.
“I was an ex-techie, I see a lot of great things in tech. I see what the initiatives that the business do, and the combination and them working together, you know, on innovation, on data and AI, that's the thing that kind of reinvigorates my love for being in the IT industry.
"Let's match the power of technology and use that as a force multiplier, with the business outcomes. Let's use this as the tool that the businesses and everyone will learn along the way because there is no predefined playbook for this worldwide,” he ended.
